The featured theme for the 10th annual conference is “International Perspectives: Crossing Boundaries through Research.” Service-learning is valued as an active learning strategy across the globe; however, little is known about the ways that service-learning is similar or different in varied contexts. Understanding servicelearning and community engagement from diverse cultural perspectives will add insight necessary for comparative research and to improve practice.

The Special Issue on Social Psychology and Citizenship will bring together a set of papers by social and community psychologists on issues pertaining to the relationship between individuals and political communities.

The Corporation for National and Community Service is seeking peer reviewers and facilitators to assist in the review of its competitive grant applications.  The Corporation engages experts from various fields to read applications and provide an analysis and rating of the quality of each application based upon published criteria. Peer reviewer comments and ratings are considered in funding decisions.

Come present to the largest gathering of youths and practitioners from the service-learning field including educators in K-12 and higher education, youth leaders, trainers, policy-makers, grantees, researchers, funders and many others. Young people are strongly encouraged to submit proposals. All proposals must be submitted online by midnight CST on September 25, 2009.
